ACCEPTED PAYMENT METHODS
We accept, via phone or face-to-face, major credit cards such as Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discovery for laboratory testing and analysis services. Credit card payment must pass authorization procedure before laboratory testing starts. Your credit card will be charged as soon as Helm Scientific completes the purchased services and sends lab reports containing plots and raw test data to you via email. Other payment methods such as ACH, EFT, checks etc. are accepted but laboratory testing will only start after the payments have been received.
Helm Scientific instruments are made-to-order or custom-built. If an instrument is in stock, it will be shipped as soon as a full payment is received. If not in stock, a customer can place a backorder by depositing 30% of the quoted price to initiate the manufacture process. The preferred payment methods are electronic fund transfer (EFT), ACH and checks though major credit cards will also be accepted over phone. The quoted lead time is ONLY an estimation and normally calculated from the date of deposit. Shipment of the instrumental systems will occur ONLY after full payment has been received.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
Helm Scientific's instrumental systems or components are developed, engineered, manufactured, assembled and tested to meet certain specifications. Helm Scientific exclusively owns any intellectual property rights such as patentable inventions, know-hows, designs, configurations, methods, patents, copyrights and trade secrets that are originally developed and used in the systems or components by Helm Scientific.
CANCELLATION
A purchase order for laboratory testing or analysis can be cancelled via email before actual laboratory work has started. Customers are responsible for shipping costs if samples or devices are to be shipped back.
To place a backorder of Helm Scientific's instrumental system(s), a purchase order must be submitted with a deposit payment of 30% quoted price. For a full refund, a cancellation request must be made via email within 24 hours after deposit payment. If a cancellation request is made within 2 weeks after deposit payment, Helm Scientific will calculate the expenses (parts and labor) incurred by the purchase order, and decide the partial refund amount. No refund of deposit can be given if a cancellation is submitted after 2 weeks of deposit payment. The system(s) will be shipped only after a full payment (including the deposit) has been received by Helm Scientific. Custom orders are deemed Final Sale and are not able to be returned or refunded after shipment.
RETURN POLICY
No return is possible for laboratory testing and analysis services.
Return for repair or return of defective parts from a purchased instrumental system can be initiated by contacting us for approval to obtain an RMA#. Please provide us with a detailed description of issues when contacting us for an RMA#.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Please take full responsibility to make sure that Helm Scientific does NOT receive chemical samples that are biohazards, radioactive, explosive, highly flammable or highly toxic.
